VNA Health was founded more than a century ago by a group of public-spirited and far-sighted women led by an exceptional nurse, Marian Watts. Our community has been fortunate to have remarkable women and compassionate caregivers who have shaped the legacy of our community’s character, health, and ability to live well. In honor of our amazing mothers and caregivers, we gather each year on the Friday before Mother’s Day for our distinguished and beloved Mother’s Day Luncheon » to celebrate two mothers – one living and one in memory – and to share our gratitude for their lives and contributions to our community.

In 2024, we celebrate Honored Mother RENEE GRUBB and Remembered Mother ROSA PACE at our 24th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon on Friday May 9, 2025  in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort.

PHorum: Perspectives in Healthcare is VNA Health’s community healthcare symposium where national, regional, and local healthcare leaders gather discuss relevant issues that affect our health and well-being. Started in 2014, this distinguished symposium attracts hundreds of participants annually, and fosters collaboration among many voices.

We invite our community members to join us for PHorum 2025 on Thursday, March 20 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara o learn more about how Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other aging ailments impacts not only the afflicted person, but also family members and our communities.  PHorum 2025 will feature Golden Globe & Emmy Award Winner JANE SEYMOUR, OBE and a screening of her film RUBY’S CHOICE. Following the film, there will be a panel discussion Moderated by KIERAN SHAH, CPHCA, VNA Health President & CEO to explore the current research on Alzheimer’s and the care challenges and options for caregivers.

Each year, the Santa Barbara Yacht Club (SBYC) comes together to race and raise funds to support VNA Health’s mission of caring with compassion and integrity. If compassion and care were the only currency needed to sustain VNA Health’s services, we would provide them in abundance. However, as a nonprofit we rely on our community’s support to continue delivering exceptional care for our families, friends, and neighbors, who depend on these services to live well at every stage of life. Every year, VNA Health hosts our annual Angels Among Us remembrance services in December. Angels Among Us is a special offering over the holidays to honor and remember those who live in our memories.
