The VNA Health Foundation welcomes gifts by credit card, cash, or check by either mail, phone, or online. Gifts can be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and can be made as a one-time donation or on a recurring basis.
Make a gift in memory or honor of a loved one by selecting the donate button above for an easy and quick process. Or mail in your gift (or call us) and provide the details regarding your tribute gift. We have a lovely online Appreciation Garden where we place the names of honored and remembered loved ones. We also will send a card to the designated family member or friend to let them know of the gift.
When you make a gift, you can choose to have it repeat monthly, quarterly, or annually. We will send you a gift acknowledgement letter each time a gift is received so you stay informed of the recurring gift. You can conclude your recurring gift at any time by contacting a member of our Foundation Team at 805-690-6222 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many of our patient families have asked us how to include information in an obituary to suggest a gift be made to VNA Health. You can use the following example as a guide:
“In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to VNA Health and mail to 509 E. Montecito Street, Suite 200, Santa Barbara, CA 93103, or by visiting their website at www.vna.health.”
VNA Health is honored to receive memorial gifts and we have a lovely online Appreciation Garden where we place the names of loved ones. We also will send a card to the designated family member or friend to let them know of the gift. Please contact a member of our Foundation Team at 805-690-6222 or email@example.com if you have any questions.
You can double your donation if your employer has a matching gift program (approximately 65% of Fortune 500 companies – and many others – match employee donations). Please contact Rebecca Benard at 805-690-6222 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss if your company offers a matching gift program.
Selecting a naming opportunity is a wonderful way to honor a loved one while supporting VNA Health and our community. Please contact Rebecca Benard at 805-690-6222 or email@example.com to discuss existing naming opportunities.
IRA DISTRIBUTION, SECURITIES, REAL ESTATE, OTHER APPRECIATED ASSETS
VNA Health Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, so your gift of an appreciated asset may qualify for significant tax advantages. Making an IRA distribution and/or transferring securities (either stocks or bonds) allows you to make a gift to VNA Health and receive a charitable deduction equal to the full fair market value. You also may avoid paying a capital gains tax on your charitable contribution. Gifts of real estate can have special benefits for both the donor and the recipient. You may give real estate as a current gift and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift. Gifts must meet certain criteria in order to be accepted by VNA Health Foundation. To make your gift or discuss options to consider, please contact Rebecca Benard at 805-690-6222 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
WILLS AND ESTATE GIFTS
Have you made a provision for VNA Health in your will or trust – or would you like information on how to do this through a charitable remainder trust, annuity, or other planned giving vehicle? Called a charitable bequest, this type of gift offers these main benefits:
- Simplicity. Just a few sentences in your will or trust are needed. The official bequest language for VNA Health Foundation is: “I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise, and bequeath to VNA Health Foundation [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
- Flexibility. Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.
- Versatility. You can structure the bequest to leave a specific item or amount of money, make the gift contingent on certain events, or leave a percentage of your estate to VNA Health.
- Tax Relief. If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift’s full value.
Please contact Rebecca Benard at 805-690-6222 or email@example.com to discuss planned gifts and our Samaritan Society.
