Sharing our Stories of Serenity House
As we continue to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Serenity House – our community’s cherished safe haven of hospice care – read stories about the legacy of Serenity House from the perspectives of our patients, their families, our staff, and our donors. VNA Health is the only home healthcare agency committed to Santa Barbara families through a charitable mission – one that provides Serenity House, the Loan Closet, subsidized healthcare, and a variety of community programs.
As our country and communities gain greater independence from the COVID19 Pandemic, VNA Health celebrates our share triumphs! From the grocery clerk to the teacher, from the delivery driver to our tireless medical community, we united against the COVID-19 pandemic with resilience, faith, and cooperation. Make a gift today, and then pledge to do the same in August and September, or give a gift that spans the entire summer. You may donate online at www.vna.health/independence. We appreciate any support you are able to provide.
VNA Health is thriving as a leading nonprofit provider of comprehensive in-home healthcare. In this issue of Live Well, we present to you Honey, “spunky, smart, and kind” woman who shares with us her secret to living well; our team of Palliative Care professionals who explain “What is Palliative Care:”; and how we have continued to thrive during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The stories demonstrate how VNA Health is committed to sustaining essential care for our communities even through crises.
Meet the faces of VNA Health in our new magazine, Live Well. In this inaugural issue, we commemorate the launch of our new brand and highlight the touching stories of our volunteers — Kay Stevens, David Moorman and Ken Kuroda — who share how VNA Health cared for them in their time of need.
We are dedicated to the outstanding Santa Barbara Community, and our volunteers and staff are dedicated to the betterment of VNA Health. Kay volunteers for our Foundation to support fundraising efforts, David shares his charisma and entertaining spirit as VNA Health’s Master of Ceremonies for special events, and Ken is a Vet-to-Vet Volunteer sharing his compassion and understanding with fellow Veterans. Their stories demonstrate how our staff and volunteers live and breathe our core values of compassion, integrity, teamwork and excellence. We are VNA Health…Live Well!
Heart to Heart – Summer 2019
Inside this issue of Heart to Heart you will find many examples of the synergy that makes our organization such a success. The cover article highlights the support that our Music Therapy Program has received from the Quincy Jones Foundation and how it has been an inspiration to others.
As we celebrate our 110th anniversary, this Heart-to-Heart, shares with you a few stories about the power of caring during crisis. How VNA Health staff and our community are driven and dedicated to help in the midst of disaster. How the power of caring about fulfilling a dying wish can bring peace to a family. How caring about a community helps each of us rebuild.
In the Fall 2017 Heart to Heart magazine, the stories we share with you exemplify VNA Health’s core values. The people in these stories go above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of the needy, sustain a legacy of exceptional local health care, fulfill a lifelong dream, and even save a life.
In the Spring 2017 Heart to Heart magazine, you will learn more about VNA Health’s hospice care through the stories of our patients and their families. From our beloved Serenity House, to the comfort provided through our Pet Therapy program, to our 4-Star We Honor Veterans program, you will see that hospice focuses on caring for the whole of a person; providing comfort for the body, and dignity for the heart, mind, and soul.
The Fall 2016 Heart to Heart magazine, we share some insights from a few of our helathcare leaders, some of our rehabilitative therapists, a beloved donor couple, and a long-time volunteer. Their stories beautifully illustrate the case and compassion with which VNA Health will continue in its second century of service.
VNA Health is proud to announce the premiere of the new Heart to Heart magazine. The magazine highlights VNA Health’s programs, services and the people who are the heart of the organization. This issue also features the 2012 Annual Report.
