Meet our Palliative Care Associate Medical Director

Dr. Michael Kearney has over 30 years of experience working in palliative care, and is an internationally recognized educator and renowned author in the field of end-of-life care. His latest book, The Nest in The Stream: Lessons from Nature on Being with Pain, published by Parallax Press in February 2018, offers a new spiritual model of self-care and resilience. He works with Palliative Care Consultants of Santa Barbara, and is Medical Director of the Palliative Care Consultation Service at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and at Serenity House, VNA Health’s inpatient hospice facility.
