SAFE HARBOR FOR 20 YEARS

For 20 years, Santa Barbara Yacht Club (SBYC) has hosted the Annual Charity Regatta benefiting VNA Health. SBYC and our community friends will come together once again at the Yacht Club on Saturday, September 7, 2024 to race, and have fun while supporting VNA Health’s vision that “Every person lives with health and dignity.”

For two decades this meaningful partnership has successfully raised over $2.4 million to support VNA Health, helping to ensure that its invaluable healthcare services for many of our families, friends and neighbors continues to provide safe harbor for all, regardless of adequate resources or insurance.

VNA Health is the only medically certified nonprofit provider of home-health care, palliative care, and hospice care in Santa Barbara, and continues to be a pivotal organization that strengthens the safety net of health and wellbeing for the Santa Barbara community. Now in its 116th year, VNA and its affiliates help 8,700+ patients, and families annually in Santa Barbara County to maintain health, live independently, recover from illness or surgery, receive bilingual bereavement counseling, and transition at end of life with dignity and comfort, regardless of adequate resources or insurance.

VNA Health Foundation is solely dependent on support from the community. The SBYC Charity Regatta raises funds for VNA Health’s charitable community programs and services, which includes Charity and Subsidized Care for Serenity House, Palliative Care and comprehensive in-home healthcare including skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies, and hospice care, as well as Integrative and Expressive Services, Loan Closet, Bereavement Care, Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Services, and Community Education.

This year, we are excited to celebrate this year’s Celebrity Skippers –Santa Barbara Harbor’s First Responders, who work hard to provide safety and order at the waterfront and in the Santa Barbara Harbor. This important and dedicated group of people include the Harbor Patrol, Coast Guard, Search & Rescue, County & City Fire, and City Police.

A Memorial Boat Tribute can also be made in honor of loved ones who have passed away. Their names will be read as flowers are scattered on the ocean to open the Regatta.
