Give Well, Live Well
2021 Campaign
The goal of the Give Well, Live Well 2021 Campaign is to bring awareness, education, information and financial resources to help VNA Health better care for our community.
For more than 112 years, VNA Health has cared for Santa Barbara County and surrounding communities with comprehensive in-home health and hospice services. Our Give Well, Live Well 2021 Campaign will help us continue our charitable services and community care programs that include the Loan Closet, Serenity House Charity Care, Telehealth Care, Palliative Care, Music Therapy, and Pet Therapy which are solely funded by community financial support. Together, these services and programs help our community live well. Together, we can all live well.
Click on the link below to learn more about the importance of supporting this type of care, and how you can help cover the costs for each of these vital programs in our community.
PHorum Archives
PHorum 2020
In the spirit of being respectfully cautious amid the spread of COVID-19 we transformed our 7th Annual PHorum (originally scheduled to be on March 12 at the Lobero Theatre) from a physical gathering to a virtual gathering that can be shared. Thank you for joining us virtually at our 7th Annual PHorum. Dr. Chris Kerr will share his newest research on end-of-life experiences, and then Dr. Michael Kearney will discuss with Dr. Kerr how these phenomenal experiences impact the bereaved, the loved ones who remain.
Workshop 2020
The talk will review the models design, financial sustainability and its relationship to Hospice in terms of both mission and margin. It will also include a discussion of two studies conducted at Hospice Buffalo: 1) Cost Savings and Enhanced Hospice Enrollment with a Home-Based Palliative Care Program Implemented as a Hospice-Private Payer Partnership, and 2) the Clinical Impact of a Home-Based Palliative Care Program: A Hospice-Private Payer Partnership.
PHorum 2019
Validating Dreams and Visions of the Dying. Dr. Christopher Kerr, CEO & Chief Medical Officer for the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Buffalo, New York, and a team of researchers are studying the dreams of terminally ill patients who reported having dreams or visions of lost loved ones and described their dreams as feeling “more real than real.”
